Keyword Research (for SEO)

What's in it for you?

  • Knowledge of what your prospects are searching for.
  • Drive more qualified traffic to your website.
  • Higher conversion rate.

Keyword Research helps to identify what your audience is actually searching for.

Matching your products/services with buyers/searchers

Do you think the same as your customers?
You sell products and services and need to communicate that to your prospects/customers.

Your prospects are looking for your products and services.

You may refer to your products and services using jargon or phrases which you are familiar with whilst your prospects use other phrases to search for these services.

We research, gather and analyse these keywords and search phrases to establish which phrases your prospects actually use in relation to your products and services.

This gives you (and us) a much clearer picture of which elements to emphasise and present on your website to ensure that your prospects will find you when searching before your competitors.

What do people search for?

We obtain data on how and what people search for, match it to your products/services and establish the ‘focus’ of the website. This is similar to market research for products: matching products and consumers where we match up searchers and buyers.

We review a client’s products and services and establish what they think people would search for in looking for their services i.e. functional/generic phrases e.g. boat berths.

We research what phrases are actually searched for in that subject or related subject. We then review both elements and evaluate the most effective phrase to define the strategy for keywords which the site should be ‘optimised for’.

It is not always as obvious as it seems. Clients are often not aware of the way people search and what they search for. They often can’t see themselves from the outside and assume that their clients/prospects know as much about their services as they do.

It’s not always the most popular phrase/word

The main element in keyword research is not always going blindly for the phrase with the highest search volume. The most popular phrases are proportionately more competitive and are therefore much harder to achieve success with.

So we analyse which gets the best balance between the highest volume and the most effective term for you to establish the most effective keyword to select and optimise the site accordingly.
