Google drops its AdSense referral scheme

Google's decision to not continue the referral programm outside Japan and the States
has caused quite a stir between site owners and publishers. The program,
which rewards people who refer new users to the Adsense scheme, will be ditched in the last week of january.

Although there is only little explanation from Google itself, this move suggests that the program is nearing market saturation, particularly for large publishers.

Google also stated, that the program has not performed as well as expected.
