It’s true, ChatGPT has taken another step into Google’s territory by releasing its own browser. I’ve just tried it, and I’m genuinely impressed.
Unlike the usual browsers that give you a million links to sift through, this one delivers high-quality information in the same way ChatGPT answers questions, clear, focused, and helpful.
To me, it’s more than just a place to search. It feels like a browser with real intelligence.
When you search, it doesn’t just point you to websites. It gives you answers, summaries, comparisons and all in real time. Often, it finishes with a sensible next step, like:
“Would you like me to find more details?” or
“If you’re interested, I can help you with X, Y, or Z.”
A few things that stood out immediately:
• It remembers what you’re doing across tabs
• It recalls what you searched for in the past few days
• It instantly summarises websites which is perfect for research
It’s also clean to use. No ads, no sponsored links (at least for now). Just your search and great results.
I road-tested it with all sorts of queries about business, training, concerts, restaurants, local events. It usually comes back with one or two quality results and then offers to go further if you want. It’s interesting from an SEO perspective, as we’re already rewriting client website content to suit how AI engines like this one present information.
This is a whole new way to work online, faster, smarter, and more focused. That said, I don’t think there will be a mad rush to adopt it just yet. Google is still deeply ingrained in how people use search and people tend to like what is familiar to them.
At the moment, the browser only works on Macs, so it may take time to go mainstream.
If you’re looking to speed up how your team works, tools like this could seriously streamline your processes.
Definitely one to watch.
